Jessie Sandoval
Jessie Sandoval, a health and wellness advocate for many years, is the owner and founder of Shanti Yoga Center. She has personally practiced yoga for more than 25 years and has been teaching classes off and on for 20 years. Throughout her work and explorations, Jessie realized that yoga is a place to come home to no matter which path leads you through the door, and for that reason she decided to make this passion into a lifelong career that ultimately helps others, opening Shanti Yoga Center in Summer 2019.

As a yoga teacher, Jessie meets her students where they are in their practice, actively working to create a space where people can easily continue to grow. During her own practice, Jessie initially came to yoga with an athlete’s mind, looking to improve her flexibility after acknowledging the toll that running had taken on her body. She experienced immense physical benefits from yoga while taking special note of how it calmed her mind. As she connected to her breath more and more, not only did her physical wellness improve, but she felt she became a better mother, wife, and daughter. It is this personal experience that has brought so much knowledge to Jessie’s teaching, which she looks forward to sharing with students from all walks of life.

Jessie completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Houston, TX, living and teaching with her guru (teacher) for over one year and studying Hatha, Bikram and Ashtanga practices. She completed her 500-hour teacher training at Yoga North in Duluth, MN in 2018 with a special focus in SomaYoga and Somatics. Jessie integrates her knowledge of SomaYoga when she works with her private clients – many of which are new to yoga, interested in the healing or therapeutic benefits of yoga, or are using yoga as a way to improve their flexibility and strength as athletes.

Laura Wilant
Laura has been exploring yoga asana for nearly 20 years, with curiosity towards movement and appreciation for the possibility of the human body. Most recently, she’s embarked on the effects of meditation as part of daily practice, and believes holding yourself in love, with love to be a profound way to walk in the world. She fuses the awareness of breath-body-brain in each of her classes, which have a rhythm towards restorative, accessible and adaptive, prop use and dynamic Hatha-Vinyasa character. She completed her 230-hour yoga teacher training in 2018 at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis, with an additional certification in kosha-centered meditation with Tara Cindy Sherman of Tree Spirit Yoga.

Laura is currently working towards her 300-hour Spiritual Warrior yoga teacher certification through YogaFarm. She loves being part of the dynamic community of students and teachers at Shanti Yoga Center, journeying together, growing in the possible and finding that peace within.
