Jocelyn Solomon
Jocelyn is a yogi, athlete, mother, and optimist. While she deeply believes that a strong, consistent, steady asana practice is critical for clarity of mind and body, it is the clarity and kindness that we can bring off the mat that is the true yoga. Yoga has borne kind witness to Jocelyn in many phases of life – through single days, the trenches of life as a civil rights trial attorney, marriage, motherhood, dark and light days alike. Jocelyn believes yoga should be joyful, challenging, gentle, revealing and athletic all at the same time.
Jocelyn is a graduate of Yogaworks 500-hour teacher training, having studied under the mentorship of both Jesse Schein and Kia Miller, deeply ingraining the importance of thoughtful and meticulous alignment, bringing a strength, focus and strong athleticism to the practice, but always making space for the deeper and more subtle work. Ultimately, the practice should leave us feeling open and more spacious so we want to return to our mats day after day.
While Jocelyn brings strong alignment to her classes, it is the playful joy of the vinyasa flow, the inner focus and metaphor of the challenging poses for life’s obstacles that is the more subtle and deep practice. Finding the sweet spot and even humor in the midst of the challenging moments is one of Jocelyn’s favorite things.
